First They Came For: The Bitcoiners

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
    Because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
    Because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
    Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

With waves of censorship crashing into all media segments, it was only a matter of time until bitcoin felt the attack. Bitcoiners are now sounding the alarm after the most recent TFTC rip with Doc Woods was pulled from YouTube.

Whether you personally agree with the Doc or not, we can all agree that independent voices need to be heard for the good of our society. Democracy cannot thrive when only a small subset of information is allowed to be broadcasted to the masses. Respectable discourse and critical thinking are necessary for human progress, yet censorship denies all of these with a uncaring and broad stroke. How are we supposed to have a reasonable discussions and personal growth if one side is unable to speak? No matter the ideas proposed, free speech is an inherent American ideal and should not be trampled upon.

The need for decentralized hosting platforms becomes more and more apparent every day. If YouTube and the like continue on their destructive path of removing dissidents, the ramifications will be vast and dire. Before they can achieve their single-minded goal, we need to ensure that our media is hosted on sites that won't block the opinions they disagree with. Marty & TFTC already seem to be on that path with their move to Ghost.org and other precautionary actions. Let's try and follow their lead and create some more un-censorable media.
